HAPPY EASTER!!! (part 2)

Here are our Easter crafts continued…

EASTER BASKET

for this craft you will need:

  • paper plate
  • paint
  • strip of paper
  • tape
  • paintbrush

ENJOY THE VIDEO!

  1. paint your plate! i did mine YELLOW!!!
  2. wait for it to dry then cut 4 slits about the same length evenly around the plate.
  3. fold up the sides and tape them overlapping so when all of them are done it will become a basket shape!
  4. fold some paper in half then in half again to make the handle. then if you want you can write a message on it!

NOW – craft number 2…

PENGUIN EGGS!!! 

egg penguins!!!

This craft is super duper cute and easy and it will be a wonderful centre piece on your table at easter time!

heres how to do it:

  • 2 eggs
  • food colouring
  • spoon
  • paper towels
  • double – sided tape
  • a piece of paper

lets get started!!!

  1. cut out two strips of tape and put them on your eggs but make sure the edges are pressed down tightly otherwise the ink will leak through.
  2. cut out another two smaller strips of tape but this time they will be your penguins face!
  3. once all your tape is on your eggs take your food colouring and drop it on to the egg over a bowl to colour it then leave them to sit and dry overnight.
  4. when hey are dry take the tape off and draw some eyes and a beak with a black pen.
  5. draw some feet and use your double sided tape to stick them on. if you want your penguin to have an easter theme then you can also design some bunny ears to make it look like they are wearing an easter headband!…

HAPPY EASTER!!!

hi everyone we hope you have a wonderful easter filled with lots of free time to eat chocolate, read this blog and do these cool easter crafts! enjoy!

you may remember us doing this craft before but isn’t our 2017 version ADORABLE!!!

heres what you need to make your own easter nest!

  • wool
  • scissors
  • double sided tape 
  • chocolate eggs (small)
  • chocolate chicken
  • and a small bowl
  1. completely cover the bowl in double sided tape.
  2. peel off the tape
  3. wrap the wool around and around and around and around the bowl until it covered
  4. fill it up little easter eggs and put your chocolate chicken on top

DONE!

now onto our next craft…

PAPER PLATE BUNNY!!!

YOU WILL NEED

  • 1 paper plate
  • scissors
  • black pen
  • red pen
  • tape
  1. cut out the centre of the plate
  2. use  your red pen to draw a nose.
  3. then your black pen to draw a mouth, some eyes and some whiskers.
  4. next trim the outside bit of your plate in half.
  5. use the scissors to round the tips of these two bits to be your ears.
  6. if you want you can bend on down.
  7. last of all, colour the inside of your ears red! and your done!!!

dream catcher crafts!

Catch your craziest dreams with this dream catcher, its easy to make and you don’t need too many supplies.Plus it only takes three steps!

heres how to make it…

supplies:

  • glue + refills                                   (preferably hot glue gun)
  • wooden skewers
  • wool                                                  (any colour)
  • ribbon                                              (any colour)
  • colourful tape                                (any pattern)

 

  1. first lay out your skewers in the shape you want and glue them together.
  2. wrap wool, ribbon and tape around the skewers
  3. hang it up!

ANZAC day awesomeness!

Today is ANZAC day and i have two things to show you!

No.1      

ANZAC cookies!

 

ingredients…

  • flour     ………………………….. 1 cup
  • golden syrup…………………… 1 1/2 tbs
  • butter …………………………… 125g
  • baking soda ……………………. 1 tsp
  • oats       …………………………. 1 cup
  • desiccated coconut…………….3/4 cup
  • sugar    …………………………. 1 cup
  1. Mix flour, oats, coconut and sugar.
  2. Melt butter and golden syrup.
  3. Mix baking soda with 2 tbsp water, and add to butter mixture.
  4. Add to dry mixture, mix and place slightly flattened spoonfuls on baking trays.
  5. Bake at 170 degrees C for around 15 minutes until golden.

(one idea is to eat them with ice cream they taste delicious!!!, shown in the picture above)

ANZAC poppy crafts!!!

are you interested in making your own homemade poppy for ANZAC day?

i hope so, because they’re awesome!

here’s how to make them…

what you need:

  • hot glue (or a glue stick if you don’t have one)
  • paper
  • pencils
  • safety pin
  • ribbon
  • black button
  1. draw a poppy shape on a piece of paper and colour it in red.
  2. cut it out.
  3. hot glue the button to your poppy
  4. glue the ribbon to the back of the poppy as well as the safety pin and it should end up looking like the picture above!

Do You Absolutely Love Easter?

try our fun filled crafts and recipes for an easter to remember!

craft 1: origami!

for this craft all you need is…

  • 20cm square of paper or 1 origami sheet of paper
  • origami book (because we know how hard origami is without pictures) or search for how to make an origami bunny online
  • pens

(if you are stuck on finding a book or website here are some sugestions, wild and wonderful origami is the book i used but https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAhe0FNviu8 is a pretty good video to watch but it might be tricky!)

  1. follow origami instructions
  2. draw a cute bunny face on it
  3. find the perfect place to put the bunny

 

craft 2: im not sure what its called but it involves marshmallows and bunnies!

for this craft all you need is…

  • mini marshmallows
  • pencils
  • pipe cleaners
  • glue

 

  1. draw a bunny and colour it in
  2. glue the pipe cleaners on like whiskers
  3. and glue  marshmallows around the outline of the bunny

and you have your marshmallow bunny drawing!!!

warning: do not eat the marshmallows after they have been glued on!!!

craft 3: bunny cup

for this craft all you need is…

  • light cardboard 
  • pipe claeners
  • pen
  • pink foam
  • glue
  • paper cup
  • cotton ball

 

  1. cut the cardboard into two rabbit ears
  2.  glue them onto the cup
  3. cut out the foam into a nose and slightly smaller ears
  4. stick the foam inside the ears and glue on the nose
  5. use pipe cleaners for whiskers and glue them on
  6. draw on some eyes and a mouth
  7. glue a cotton ball on the back of the cup for a tail

                         bunny complete!

Easter Cookies!

you can make some super cute easter cookies, if you are interested read on! the recipe is coming!

you will need…

  • 110g butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour, sifted
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • Icing: 1 cup icing sugar, sifted; 1 egg white; food colouring.

    Method: Cream butter and sugar then beat in egg and vanilla. Sift in dry ingredients and mix well. Shape dough into a flat brick, wrap with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1 hour. Heat oven to 175oC and line baking trays with baking paper. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to about 3mm thick (try using a piece of baking paper placed over the dough.) Cut into shapes. Place shapes on trays and bake for 8 minutes until cooked but not brown. Cool biscuits on wire racks.

    Icing: Beat or whisk icing sugar and egg white together until thick enough to hold a peak. Divide mixture between small bowls and use food colouring to make different colours. Pipe icing on cooled biscuits.

 

craft 4: easter nest

or this craft all you need is…

  • wool or yarn
  • bowl
  • cotton balls
  • easter eggs
  • double sided tape
  1. start by getting your bowl and wrapping double  sided tape all the way around it
  2. peel off the backing and start winding the wool around the bowl
  3. when the wool covers the whole bowl fill it half way up with cotton balls and put small easter eggs on top

and there you have it an easy 3 step easter nest! (its super easy to take it apart, just unwind the wool and take off the tape)

cool colour chip bookmarks!!!

would you like to know how to make these cool bookmarks!

All you need is…

  • some colour chip testers from a colour/paint store (choose colours you like)
  • scissors
  • pens/pencils/crayons

step 1. 

cut the cards into strips, choose your favourite strips to keep and use or if you like them all use them all you can make as many as you like!

step 2.

use your pens, pencils, and crayons to make a fun fantastic pattern on the back of your bookmarks

Then you’re done!!!

Homemade Pin Pals

would you like a super cute and cheerful pin pal? if yes keep reading, pin pals can be any colour any message and any shape you choose it can even have a little face drawn on it.

heres how you make them:

you will need…

  • paint
  • cardboard
  • scissors
  • felt pen
  • tape
  • safety pin

 

  1. paint the cardboard with two coats of paint then leave it to dry for 20-30 minutes.
  2. when it is dry draw the size  and shape of of your badge on the back in pen.
  3. cut it out and tape the pin to the back of your badge.
  4. flip it over and write your message or draw your face on and you are done!

(you can also make stickers by instead of a pin roll up some tape or use double sided tape on the back!)

Fantastic fairy house

if you have a lot of spare boxes you want to use why don’t you turn them into a fun little fairy house!!!

to make a fairy house you will need

  • scissors
  • tape
  • wrapping paper
  • box
  • card board
  • tissues
  • cotton buds

step 1.

get your box and tape the wrapping paper to the inside of the box

step 2.

cut a circle of card board out and tape it to the  bottom of the box. this will be a bed.

step 3.

get your cotton balls and tissues and tape them to the card board circle. the tissue is the sheets and the cotton balls are the pillows

step 4.

decorate the walls with cards stamps and other cool things!

Fashion!

do you want to make some fashion designs and create some outfits then you should go to your local library and search for this amazing book written by Fifi colston, its all about fashion designing and its called wearable wonders its got things you can photocopy like the dolls i made there is a picture of them at the bottom of the page. wearable wonders is full of answers,tips,and things to try at home.i made some paper dolls and decorated them with colorful paper,washi tape(colored and patterned), tinfoil and matchsticks. if you go to the supermarket there might be some extra little things you can find to create them. I found some little cupcake cases that i turned into skirts and other stuff.

give it a try and send in what you make!
