Do You Absolutely Love Easter?

try our fun filled crafts and recipes for an easter to remember!

craft 1: origami!

for this craft all you need is…

  • 20cm square of paper or 1 origami sheet of paper
  • origami book (because we know how hard origami is without pictures) or search for how to make an origami bunny online
  • pens

(if you are stuck on finding a book or website here are some sugestions, wild and wonderful origami is the book i used but https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAhe0FNviu8 is a pretty good video to watch but it might be tricky!)

  1. follow origami instructions
  2. draw a cute bunny face on it
  3. find the perfect place to put the bunny

 

craft 2: im not sure what its called but it involves marshmallows and bunnies!

for this craft all you need is…

  • mini marshmallows
  • pencils
  • pipe cleaners
  • glue

 

  1. draw a bunny and colour it in
  2. glue the pipe cleaners on like whiskers
  3. and glue  marshmallows around the outline of the bunny

and you have your marshmallow bunny drawing!!!

warning: do not eat the marshmallows after they have been glued on!!!

craft 3: bunny cup

for this craft all you need is…

  • light cardboard 
  • pipe claeners
  • pen
  • pink foam
  • glue
  • paper cup
  • cotton ball

 

  1. cut the cardboard into two rabbit ears
  2.  glue them onto the cup
  3. cut out the foam into a nose and slightly smaller ears
  4. stick the foam inside the ears and glue on the nose
  5. use pipe cleaners for whiskers and glue them on
  6. draw on some eyes and a mouth
  7. glue a cotton ball on the back of the cup for a tail

                         bunny complete!

Easter Cookies!

you can make some super cute easter cookies, if you are interested read on! the recipe is coming!

you will need…

  • 110g butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour, sifted
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • Icing: 1 cup icing sugar, sifted; 1 egg white; food colouring.

    Method: Cream butter and sugar then beat in egg and vanilla. Sift in dry ingredients and mix well. Shape dough into a flat brick, wrap with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1 hour. Heat oven to 175oC and line baking trays with baking paper. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to about 3mm thick (try using a piece of baking paper placed over the dough.) Cut into shapes. Place shapes on trays and bake for 8 minutes until cooked but not brown. Cool biscuits on wire racks.

    Icing: Beat or whisk icing sugar and egg white together until thick enough to hold a peak. Divide mixture between small bowls and use food colouring to make different colours. Pipe icing on cooled biscuits.

 

craft 4: easter nest

or this craft all you need is…

  • wool or yarn
  • bowl
  • cotton balls
  • easter eggs
  • double sided tape
  1. start by getting your bowl and wrapping double  sided tape all the way around it
  2. peel off the backing and start winding the wool around the bowl
  3. when the wool covers the whole bowl fill it half way up with cotton balls and put small easter eggs on top

and there you have it an easy 3 step easter nest! (its super easy to take it apart, just unwind the wool and take off the tape)
